We here at Sport City Toyota, serving the Dallas area, don't feel the need to toot our own horn, but sometimes an opportunity comes along that's just too perfect. Toyota recently added a new member to the Prius Family of Cars, the 2012 Prius c. Not only is this little hybrid proving to be one of the best selling models yet, but it is already giving it's competition a run for their money.
For starters, the 2012 Toyota Prius c already has a reduced price tag compared to many of it's competitors flagship hybrid cars. For instance, while the Volt and LEAF start at $39,145 and 35,200 respectively, the Prius c features a much more affordable starting MSRP of $18,950. What's more, it does this while remaining competitively efficient.
How can that be possible? While the Prius c is not all electric and not even of the plug-in variety, it does feature Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive. Add in the fact that it features it in a subcompact package, and it's easy to see why it boasts an EPA-estimated 53 mpg combined.
"A number of factors drive the auto market, and fuel prices is one of them," confirms Bob Carter, group vice president and general manager of the Toyota Division. "With 53 miles-per-gallon in the city and priced under $19,000, the timing for Prius c couldn't be better."1
That being said, the Prius c isn't just selling well; it's leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in terms of sales. Specifically, while the Volt and LEAF have only managed to sell 1,023 and 478 units respectively, in the last month, the 2012 Toyota Prius c has sold 1,201 units...in just three days!
Sound like the kind of hybrid bandwagon you're ready to hop on? You're not alone. And if you contact Sport City Toyota today, you can take the Prius c for a test drive on our lot, conveniently located at 12650 Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy.
